On Black Friday, shoppers are invited to enjoy a holiday breakfast from 6 to 9 a.m. at the Lifestyle Café. The hot breakfast will be available to the first 1,000 Fairlane Town Center customers, compliments of the shopping center. Now in its third year, the holiday community breakfast is the perfect stop for shoppers looking to rest and re-energize in between holiday purchases.
“We are thankful for our customers and support from the community year-round. Hosting the holiday community breakfast is our way of saying thank you,” said Catherine O’Malley, Fairlane Town Center general manager. “It is a pleasure to see our customers at the center looking for great deals or just an inviting setting to spend time with family and friends.”
Shoppers eager to learn of doorbusters and deals throughout the Thanksgiving weekend can get information from Santa’s elves at all mall entrances from 6 a.m. until noon on Black Friday. Additional shopping support, including gift ideas, is available at the information desk.
Morning mall walkers are welcome to participate in the seventh annual Turkey Strut, a fun-filled event to keep fit for the holidays. From 7 to 9 a.m., Bally’s Total Fitness personal trainers will lead the workout and help with stretches, exercises and dancing along the way. The first 100 mall walkers will enjoy a hot breakfast after the workout.

New Holiday Décor
Now through Dec. 24, shoppers can experience the enchantment of an Ice Palace based on the December 10 release of “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.” Sponsored by Oakwood Hospital, the holiday display is inspired by the magic of winter and features a color changing, 30-foot ice palace, encircled with a series of majestic arches and smaller globes that appear to be carved from ice and will immerse visitors with magical vignettes from the land of Narnia.
As visitors walk through the dome, guests are greeted with falling snow, a captivating light show and exclusive movie footage integrated into an exciting video experience. The journey continues as guests are seated on the Ice Palace throne that’s cool to the touch, and can leave their handprint behind on the interactive ice arch, which features the paw prints of famed Narnian creatures.
Ice Palace was unveiled in grand fashion on November 12 during a special lighting ceremony, whereby the stars from the movie via satellite gave holiday revelers the first look at their highly anticipated film. Here in Dearborn, local children used LED wands to help light the Ice Palace for the holiday season.
“The holidays are a time filled with joy for children of all ages,” said Darla Bowen, Fairlane Town Center marketing and sponsorship director. “What better way to begin the season than with a gathering of children and families to enjoy the Ice Palace.”
In addition to the excitement of the new holiday display, families can continue to experience the holiday tradition of visiting Santa at Fairlane Town Center through December 24 for family photos. Every child who visits with him will receive a special gift. Finally, friends and family can take home a piece of their Ice Palace adventure with a cool holiday photo in front of the Ice Throne.
