Detroit City Council has delayed the vote on a new council president or Pro-Tem. Other items discussed were the official dismissal of Charles Pugh, who has not been seen at council since allegations of misappropriate behavior with a local teen surfaced.

The council is seeking written legal clarification and advice before moving forward with any vote concerning his removal. Last week Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr eliminated Pugh’s pay, power and position, however he does not have the authority to remove an elected official from office.

Pugh has not resigned. Council members are getting legal advice on how to proceed.
