One of President Obama’s staffers was arrested for allegedly pulling a gun on her boyfriend after suspecting him of cheating. Barvetta Singletary, 37, allegedly persuaded her boyfriend, who happens to be a cop, to come to her Maryland home and threatened him with his own gun for sleeping around. “You taught me how to use this. Don’t think I won’t use it,” she said, according to police. Singletary reportedly fired the weapon after her boyfriend refused to let her see his cell phone. She was apprehended at the scene and charged with first-and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. Singletary is on unpaid leave and has been banned from the White House until an investigation is completed. Former LA Clippers Owner Donald Sterling Files Lawsuit Against TMZ

Former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling is taking legal action after last year’s racial scandal resulted in him losing ownership of the NBA team. According to reports, Sterling filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court that accuses TMZ and his former girlfriend V. Stiviano of disrespecting his privacy and publicly damaging his character. After his racist remarks went public, his estranged wife ended up selling the team to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for $2 billion. ”It’s ridiculous if he says he was damaged by it when he made $2 billion,’‘ said Mac Nehoray, Stiviano’s attorney. ‘‘I think he’s just a litigious person. Unless he has something going on in the public eye, he can’t exist.” The lawsuit comes just days after he filed for divorce from his wife. Read more.


BET to Produce New Edition Biopic Miniseries

New Edition’s story will soon be coming to television. Yesterday, BET announced they will be teaming up with Jesse Collins and his production company to create a miniseries about the group. “It’s been a long time coming and that time is finally here! Now that we have signed the deal, New Edition’s journey will be captured in a three night miniseries to tell our life story through our very own eyes. We are happy to have New Edition Enterprises collaborate with BET Networks’ Debra Lee and Stephen Hill along with Jesse Collins Entertainment,” said the group in a statement. “From our beginning in the Orchard Park Projects in Boston to Hollywood and everything in between, just like The Temptations and The Jackson Five—we are ready to retrace our footsteps and show everyone how we got here. For the fans all over the world, this one’s for you.” Band members Michael Bivins, Ronnie DeVoe, Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant, and Ricky Bell will help executive produce the project. Read more.
