GOP Arizona Radio Host: ‘Obama Is The First Monkey President’

Barbara Espinosa, radio host of Arizona’s “Hair on Fire” called President Barack Obama the nation’s “first monkey president” live on the air, reports FoxNews.com.[1]
In response to a caller named Richard who was rambling on and on about how he calls the president “Rabbit Ears,” and saying that he would like to know who actually voted for “the idiot” in the White House who is trying to destroy the country, Espinosa chimed in with: “Well, I don’t call him “rabbit ears,” I call him a monkey,” she said. “I don’t believe in calling him the first Black president, I call him the first Monkey president.”

You can hear the rumbles of disbelief behind her and a caller named Joe let her know just how much of an idiot she sounded:
“This show just took a very interesting turn. I’ll be honest with you; It’s amazing that people who supposedly care about freedom are unwilling to be tolerant of any other idea other than their own. You know, I’m not saying their ideas are right, but how about citing them intellectually instead of calling names. I have to say to you, the few things I just heard, they’re insulting. I mean, straight up insulting, and I think anyone listening would feel the same way. I think that if all you’re trying to do is get a little bit of notoriety by what you said and maybe that will bring some attention to your show, well you know, that’s your choice, but you know what, that was wrong.”
Listen to the exchange here[2].
In a blog posting [3]on her site, “American Freedom by Barbara: If You Wouldn’t Write It or Sign It, Don’t Say It,” Espinosa wanted to set the record straight:
“I did use the word monkey and Obama in the same sentence. Yes I did say I voted for the white guy. Unless there has been a takeover of America and free speech is no longer allowed and I can be put to death for making a remark, I refuse to take th…”
Ironically, that partial quote comes from Espinosa’s Facebook page[4], because she deleted her blog. Apparently, she didn’t feel comfortable “writing it and signing it after she said it.” But according to AddictingInfo.com[5], who caught the blog before she pulled it, she said she refuses to take “the fifth.” In addition, she included a copy and paste of the Theory of Evolution, along with another seemingly unrelated piece about monkeys.”
Though former President George W. Bush was referred to as a monkey by CNBC’s Erin Burnett[6] in back in 2007, monkey in both the historical and contemporary narrative has been used by racist White Americans as a derogatory slur against Black Americans.
Espinosa — who allegedly said that she couldn’t be racist, just look at her last name — knows that it was a racial slur; her listeners know that it was a racial slur and I would have a lot more respect for her if she just stood tall and proud as the bigot she obviously is.
