The Detroit Public Schools Foundation is partnering with Detroit Public Schools for a day of service during the District’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. day of tribute.  January 20, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., numerous Detroit Public Schools alumni will gather together at Detroit Public Schools for a day of giving and beautification to benefit the District’s schools and students.

“Several DPS schools have identified projects that support DPS schools and students..   We are excited to be a part of the day of service that honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.”, said Dr. Glenda Price, President, Detroit Public Schools Foundation.

The day of service gives DPS alumni and volunteers the opportunity to share their time and talents in the city of Detroit.  For those who are unable to volunteer, there is the option of donating to the “Alumni I Dream Fund” with all proceeds supporting DPS student programs and initiatives.

“This is a great opportunity to get involved and demonstrate a commitment to the students of DPS.  The Detroit Public Schools Foundation is excited to be part of such a worthwhile day,” said Price.
