Google honors the life of Dorothy Irene Height with a Google Doodle on their U.S. sites today. Height was president of the National Council of Negro Women for forty years and was awarded both the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1994, and the Congressional Gold Medal in 2004

Born onMarch 24, 1912 in Richmond, Virginia and passing away only about four years ago on April 20, 2010 at the age of 98 in Washington, D.C. She would have been 102 years old today.
