Chances are if you’re a fan of the Braxtons, you’re already familiar with the fact that the eldest Braxton sister, Toni, has officially caught the acting bug. After trying her hand at showcases and plays during filming of “Braxton Family Values” and an extensive Broadway run as Belle in “Beauty and the Beast”, Toni has signed on as the lead role in OWN’s first scripted television film, “My Name Is Love: The Darlene Love Story.”
Braxton will play Darlene Love, the legendary musician who reigned during the 160s. The biopic will explore the ups and downs of Love’s career, her work with Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin and Frank Sinatra and even her spicy love affair. Darlene Love will also serve as executive producer for the film.
Darlene recently won an Academy Award for her performance in “20 Feet From Stardom” and received a standing ovation with her vocal acceptance speech.
