Radio One and American Express Serve have teamed up to empower African-American women with a series of expos being hosted by leading urban radio stations across the country.

American Express Serve and Radio One, which is the parent company of Hello Beautiful, introduced the One VIP Card from American Express Serve, which is a full service, reloadable prepaid account, nine months ago. The card has no credit check or minimum balance, and no hidden fees. And to help raise the profile for the money management tool, expos in seven cities will begin this month, starting in Raleigh, NC.

The markets will include:

Raleigh, NC – April 18

Indianapolis, MN – May 2

Detroit, MI – August 15

Cincinnati, OH – September 26

Richmond, VI – October 17

Cleveland, OH – October 25

Card members will enjoy specific perks at the expos, including giveaways and celebrity encounters.

Kim Bandell, who is the director of prepaid operations for radio properties said, “Radio One wants to be a part of the solution, not the problem, for our vast urban audience. Having a financial partner that has transparent card practices was critical. We’re proud of the strides we’ve made and look forward to reaching more people during our Women’s Empowerment Tour.”
