DALLAS — Service Broadcasting’s Director of Operations George “Geo” Cook announced today that Tony Scott has joined Smooth R&B 105.7 as the afternoon drive host.
Cook commented, “Tony is a multi-platform performer with tremendous talent who can engage and captivate audiences with his humor and storytelling. His delivery is smooth and conversational – and that’s exactly what we were looking for. With his years of experience, Tony has developed a high media I.Q. and is very social media savvy, knowing how to leverage the power of each touchpoint. I am ecstatic that he is now a member of the Service Broadcasting family and an integral part of our incredibly talented Smooth Crew!”
Tony Scott said, “The opportunity to join KRNB and Service Broadcasting is one that has me excited and proud. The reputation of Service Broadcasting and its owner, Hymen Childs, is legendary. Put that with the chance to learn and work with Director of Operations George “Geo” Cook and you really can’t ask for more. I’m back home in Texas and at a dream spot, Smooth R&B 105.7.”
Scott comes to Dallas from the St. Louis market where he spent the last 27 years hosting morning and afternoon drive shows for both urban and hip hop formats. In addition to working in the St. Louis market, Scott has worked in radio in Detroit, San Francisco and Houston. Scott is a native of Texas, born and raised in Galveston. Scott has received countless honors and awards for his service on and off the air for his work in the community. He is a strong advocate and supporter of mental health care and constantly works to end the fear that many people have of getting help.
