Yo Adrian! Can you smell the cheesesteak? Starting April 29, 2016, Spirit Airlines will begin new nonstop service from the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to the Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). So whether you’re looking to check out the Liberty Bell, explore where Motown got its name, or relax on some of Florida’s best beaches, Spirit has you covered with its ultra-low fares.

“We are excited to bring more low fare choices to more places for our customers,” said Mark Kopczak, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines. “Spirit continues to make flying more affordable in Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, and Philadelphia, enabling customers to visit places they previously couldn’t afford.”

Today’s news follows Spirit’s recent announcement of nonstop service between PHL and the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), also starting in April 2016. With these additions, Spirit will operate nonstop service from Philadelphia to 8 cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Detroit (starting 4/29/2016), Fort Lauderdale (starting 4/29/2016), Las Vegas, Los Angeles (starting 4/14/2016), and Myrtle Beach.

“We are very pleased Spirit continues to add service in Philadelphia,” said Philadelphia International Airport CEO Mark Gale. “Our customers are the beneficiaries of Spirit’s growth and expansion of services. As our airlines create more choices in scheduling, passengers often have more affordable travel options. It’s a trend we are excited to see.”
