Habitat for Humanity Detroit will host its 5th Annual Red Carpet Bash on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the Fillmore Detroit. The Bash, which is being presented by Lear Corporation, is Habitat Detroit’s largest annual fundraiser and will begin the celebration of Habitat Detroit’s 30th Anniversary year, honoring Habitat stars – homeowners, volunteers, community partners and sponsors – for their support of Habitat Detroit in its efforts to build homes, community and hope in Detroit and surrounding communities.

“Our longstanding history in the city of Detroit shows our commitment to this great city. And, we couldn’t do anything without the stars we are honoring at this year’s Red Carpet Bash. They are the volunteers who have helped build homes; the sponsors who have provided both financial support and labor for our efforts; and our partners who are as committed to our communities as we are in making it safe and sustainable for years to come,” said Kenneth V. Cockrel, Jr., newly appointed Executive Director for Habitat Detroit.

The Red Carpet Bash plays on the theme of the Oscars, where guests have the chance to walk the red carpet, enjoy a strolling dinner, mingle with celebrity guests, and watch a special awards ceremony as the organization honors its “stars” with the Habbie awards. Awards include Volunteer of the Year, Homeowner of the Year, Sponsor of the Year, Community Partner of the Year, and Faith Partner of the Year.

“Detroiters have a chance to join in on the fun and glamour of Hollywood while also supporting Habitat Detroit and our mission to provide affordable and safe housing solutions,” said Cockrel.

Habitat for Humanity Detroit’s 5th Annual Red Carpet Bash will take place on  Saturday, Feb. 27, from  6 p.m to 11 p.m. at The Fillmore Detroit located at 2115 Woodward Ave.
