Detroit musicians and storytellers Rev. Robert Jones and Matt Watroba combine their talents in a 60-minute performance celebrating American music and cultural diversity. Common Chords shows how European and African instruments and styles fused to make American music. Audiences will also learn that the evolution of American music is a journey of tolerance and acceptance.
Ford Motor Company Fund is collaborating with The Ark music club in Ann Arbor to support the Common Chords performance for about 200 school-age children at 10:30 a.m., April 15.The Ark is located at 316 S. Main Street, Ann Arbor.
There is a public performance at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 16 featuring Jones and Watroba which is part of the Ford Motor Company Fund Family Series at The Ark.
