 Southfield Youth Assistance, in partnership with the city of Southfield, Oakland County, Southfield Public Schools and Inform Yourself Youth Development, will sponsor a ‘Partnering for Parenting Summer Camp Expo & Jump Rope Don’t Drink Challenge’ on Saturday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Southfield Parks & Recreation Building, 26000 Evergreen Road.

The Expo will showcase camps, camp scholarship information, related vendors and other community resources available for youth and families, including an Internet safety and cyber-bullying presentation and parenting workshop.  It will also feature The Jump Rope Don’t Drink Jump Off Challenge, a youth initiative designed to educate young people about the dangers of underage drinking. Participants will receive a jump rope forthe challenge for a $2 donation to SYA.  Refreshments will also be available forpurchase.

Southfield Youth Assistance is also seeking vendors (camps, schools, child care centers, recreation classes, etc.) to showcase their services. Organizations who are interested in participating can register online at www.syaexpo.eventbrite.com.

Southfield Youth Assistance (SYA) is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) prevention program that focuses on providing services to youth and their families within the Southfield/Lathrup Village area. We provide short-term counseling services for youth who need additional support at home, school, or within the community, while also engaging them in positive experiences and enhancing their social, academic, and interpersonal skills.
