Hulu just put in an 16-episode order for The Mindy Project, starring Mindy Kaling. Vulture reports:
Hulu is all-in on The Mindy Project: The streaming network today will announce it has renewed Mindy Kaling’s former Fox comedy for a fifth season. Insiders tell Vulture the order is for 16 episodes. The relatively early pickup — a little more than halfway through Mindy’s fourth season — is a big vote of confidence for the show, and a sign Hulu is satisfied with its performance among subscribers.

We’ll soon welcome the notorious ‘El Chapo‘ into our living rooms, courtesy of the History Channel.
Deadline reports Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman is all set to have his own drama series titled #Cartel. As for what the show will entail, the site reports:
“Written by Brancato, #Cartel will explore the global drug wars through the true story of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, called the most powerful drug lord in history. Described as a story of power, money, sex and the human cost of the drug wars, the drama will chronicle the kingpin’s rise to power, taking a look inside the stranger-than-fiction world of drug cartels who use social media to maintain their image, recruit new members and threaten rivals.”
El Chapo’s legacy lives on.
The ubiquitous Jack Thorne will script the adaptation of the iconic story about a lowly, downtrodden soldier who ends up killing his wife. The Old Vic’s Matthew Warchus cast Boyega in the title role. Boyega has previously had minor roles in the National Theatre and The Tricycle in Kilburn but this will be his first leading role in a major theatrical production.

Blac Chyna‘s moving on up, so of course she needs to trademark her name.
According to TMZ, the bootylicious half of #BlacRob filed the paperwork last month, as her “biz opportunities are exploding, so she’s making sure she has the exclusive right to promote products with her name. Same goes for TV gigs, movie deals and party appearances.”
The site goes on: “Sources connected to Chyna tell us the concern is some other chick — stripper or otherwise — coming along and using the “Blac(k) Chyna” moniker. The docs were filed just 2 weeks before she got engaged to Rob Kardashian, but we’re told that’s just coincidence — it should’ve been done years ago.”
