Leading this year’s $1.5 million campaign are Heart Ball Co-Chairs Jason Hall, co-founder of Slow Roll Detroit and Daniel Mahlebashian, global executive director of Purchasing Services, Request to Pay Process and Enterprise SAP Business Management for General Motors. To-date, the Heart Ball campaign has raised more than $25 million to fund cardiovascular research and educational programs.
“This campaign is distinctive because we’re offering the community various opportunities to learn about the association with the goal to save lives,” said Shelley Rusinek, vice president of Development for the southeast Michigan American Heart Association. “As a result of the leadership we have in place, attendees will experience a summer chic event and renewed spirit of giving,” said Rusinek.
“It’s important we expose our future leaders to organizations that impact the health of our nation,” said Hall. “The American Heart Association continues to revolutionize research and educational programs that make our communities a better place to live.”
The premiere summer chic affair features dinner, dancing, auctions and inspiring survivor message. Rhonda Walker of WDIV will serve as the mistress of ceremonies. Afterward, attendees will experience live entertainment provided by DJ Thornstryker, resident DJ for the Detroit Pistons, special cocktails and food trucks.
