RIO DE JANEIRO — Simone Biles and Simone Manuel, now known as the legendary “Simones,” have been drenched from the torrential downpour of accolades they have received since they both made history at the Rio Olympics within hours of each other.
Biles took home the gold in the all-around gymnastics exercises, while Manuel became the first ever black swimmer to take home gold in any Olympics individual event.
One of the greatest compliments “The Simones” received was from none other than LeBron James, who just finished giving Cleveland its first championship in that town in 52 years when the Cavs won the NBA title. You may remember King James’ daughter with him at the title-winning press conference. And LBJ referenced his youngest child when congratulating both women for their history-making nights on Thursday.
