This is what we might refer to as the rest of #Detroit. There’s the great development going on downtown and in Midtown, and admittedly there’s progress in attacking the blight and restoring pockets of the city. But as this story points out in Model D, the foreclosure crisis has been haunting this city for at least two decades. Keep in mind that this is going on in a city that was once known nationwide as having the highest percentage of black homeownership in the country. Now we’re closing in on the highest rate of black folks losing their homes. This is a frightening thing.
