The Parade Company and the Skillman Foundation will commemorate a quarter century of inspiring young designers by announcing the winner of the 25th Annual Skillman Foundation Float Design Contest for America’s Thanksgiving Parade® presented by Art Van. The popular annual contest provides Detroit students ranging in grades four through eight an opportunity to design a larger-than-life float that will be included in this year’s parade. On Nov. 15, the winning designer will be joined by family and teachers as their imagination is brought to life.
The winning student will have the honor of leading their float down Woodward Avenue on Thanksgiving morning. Honorable mention winners will also be present at the press conference.
Celebrating “90 Years Together,” America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Art Van is produced by The Parade Company. It’s recognized as one of the best Thanksgiving parades in the country by U.S. News & World Report Travel and is broadcast to more than 170 cities nationwide.
