Good Medicine Development, a non-profit organization focused on cultivating the next generation’s gifts and talents, is hosting its 2nd Annual Fine Arts Camp: “I Was Created for This.” The camp will take place at the Northwest Activities Center located at 18100 Meyers Rd. in Detroit, August 1-12.

GMD has a commitment to teaching, enriching and enhancing the lives of young people through fine arts and character building, while developing strong leaders, positive role models, great friends and confident presenters. The staff of Good Medicine Development understands that every child posses a unique gift or talent and they strive to help their campers enrich these talents. The two week camp offers campers an opportunity to explore their creativity through classes in creative writing, vocals, dance, drama and theatrical makeup.

“Being able to offer young people an opportunity to explore greatness through fine arts was a dream of mine for a long time,” says Founder and Director of Good Medicine Development, Tirrell Mccoy, “watching this dream come true and experiencing the impact that our dynamic staff left on the camper’s lives is priceless!”

At the conclusion of this year’s camp GMD will host a free Happy Healthy Kids Fair outdoors on August 13, to inform and educate our youth on the importance of taking care of their bodies at an early age through physical activities, healthy eating and conducting annual health screenings. The fair will offer free food, activities and entertainment for families. There will also be free on site immunizations for children with health care coverage. Immunizations for children without health care coverage are $10 per immunization; Good Medicine Development will sponsor immunizations for the first 60 children.

The Fine Arts Camp registration has begun. The camp fee is $125.00 per camper and includes a camp t-shirt.
