On Thursday, April 19, 2018, Gleaners Community Food Bank (Gleaners) will welcome over 700 of southeastern Michigan’s female leaders to Little Caesars Arena from 7:00-9:00 AM for the 25th annual Women’s Power Breakfast (WPB). This year’s breakfast marks a quarter century of southeast Michigan’s most powerful and influential corporate, civic, and nonprofit female leaders uniting to end hunger in our community. Since 1994, over 9,000 attendees of Gleaners’ Women’s Power events (Breakfast & Happy Hour) helped raise over $3.2 million.

“The Women’s Power Breakfast continues to be a special event because it was founded on the idea that women can do anything they put their minds to,” says Dulcie Rosenfeld, Women’s Power Breakfast Founder.

WPB guests will have the opportunity to network with the community’s top leaders, enjoy a simple and delicious breakfast, and an inspiration program that demonstrates Gleaners’ mission. The WPB kicks off Gleaners’ Million Meal Match, a month-long campaign with a goal of raising one million meals for hungry children. This year, Gleaners is focused on making investments in the lives of kids to make sure they grow up healthy, happy, and hopeful. The campaign runs through May 22, 2018 culminating with the 5th annual Women’s Power Happy Hour. PNC Bank is the campaign’s match sponsor.

One in five Michigan children face hunger and nearly 300,000 school-age children in southeast Michigan are eligible for free or reduced-fee school meals. Normally, $1 provides three meals but during the Million Meal Match, $1 provides SIX meals for hungry children across southeast Michigan. PNC Bank is the Presenting Sponsor of the Women’s Power Breakfast and Delta Airlines is the Children’s Hunger Champion sponsor.
