• Date/time: November 10th

The Detroit Doll Show is a Black Doll Show that will include doll artists from around the globe, figurines, raffle, game room, face painting, doll look-alike contest, live painting, Kid DJ, arts & crafts, door prizes; and a panel discussion, “Re-Define your BEaUty!” featuring local celebrities: Ettaflyy Espy, Co-Founder of Naturally Flyy Detroit and Co-Owner of Sweet Potato Sensations; Carole Gist, the First Black Miss USA, Actress and Fitness Expert; AJ Williams, Editor of the City.Life.Style at the Michigan Chronicle and Founder of Chickdom; Yvelette Stines, Author Journalist, Health & Wellness Writer; and Canadian Artist Cee Robinson, Actress, Activist and Doll Artist.

With the limited diversity of dolls on store shelves that include African Americans with various textured hair, Biracial individuals, or people with Vitiligo or Albinisms our goal is to highlight the BEaUty of those who are less celebrated at the Detroit Doll Show.

The Detroit Doll Show is coined as “the largest of its kind in the Midwest,” because it caters to African American children, women and collectors with an emphasis on honoring black heritage and diversity. The Detroit Doll Show mission is to celebrate history, culture, beauty, and self-love with dolls of color.

Their motto is “Love the Skin You’re In” and “Image is Everything” because it’s healthy for a child’s self-esteem to play with a doll that reflects their image. Be prepared to shop with unique vendors before the Christmas holiday and have a Dollightful time at Sandy’s Land 7th Annual Detroit Doll Show on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m. at the DoubleTree By Hilton, 5801 Southfield FWY, Detroit MI 48228.
