Humble Design, a 501c3 non-profit organization, assists families emerging from homeless and domestic abuse shelters with the process of rebuilding their home lives. The mission of Humble Design is to connect families in need with home furnishings to create a stable, sustainable home environment. Humble Design helps transform four bare walls into a clean, dignified and welcoming home by re-purposing gently used household goods, allowing family members to focus on improving education, home life, employment, and building a better future.

The event, “Beauty Within” Women’s Luncheon, will be held on May 5th, 2018, from 11:00am-2:00pm, at the DTE Energy Atrium located at their headquarters in Detroit. This entertaining afternoon will be filled with food, drinks, a silent auction, designer stations, music and women empowering women, all of which will be benefiting future deserving families.

During the luncheon, guests will be able to shop a silent auction with many unique and desirable items, learn to transform items from old to new from Humble Design designers, and enjoy beautiful music by singer Beth LaRose.

Humble Design has secured an esteemed panel of powerful women including Dr. Rita Fields, formerly homeless and now a professor and TED talk speaker from Detroit, as the moderator. Power Speakers include Julie James, Co-Founder & CMO of DROUGHT, organic juice company; Amy Peterson, CEO, and Co-Founder of Rebel Nell, a jewelry company with a purpose as well as Jennifer Guarino, VP of Manufacturing at Shinola.

Individual tickets are $100 or $1000 for a table of 10 and are available for purchase via the Humble Design website www.humbledesign.org under the “events” tab.
