Neighborhood Service Organization (NSO), is hosting a one-of-a-kind event, the “NSO Man in the City Experience”, Thursday, May 17, at the MotorCity Casino Hotel and Sound Board, from 7 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. During the event, there will be an art auction benefitting the most vulnerable populations of our community: the homeless, disabled, youth and elderly.
“We are thrilled to be working with John Suave, and more than thirty metro Detroit artists who have come together to showcase their creative talents in support of NSO,” said Sheilah Clay, president and CEO of NSO.
Inspired by Detroit artist John Sauve’s “Man in the City” sculpture project of orange men displayed on rooftops throughout Detroit, the event will feature more than 35 “Man in the City” sculptures customized by local and nationally renowned artists, celebrities and community leaders, The artists’ were provided a basic wood sculpture of the “Man” courtesy of Detroit Woodworking and used the materials and techniques of their choice to design their “Man”. The sculptures will be auctioned at the NSO “Man in the City Experience” event.

Locally and Nationally recognized artist will be participating including, nationally recognized muralist Hubert Massey and muralist Desiree Kelly just to name a few.
Sponsorship packages, VIP and General Admission Tickets are available for the event. VIP tickets are $150 and include a pre-event champagne reception and VIP reserved seating. General admission tickets are $100. All guests will enjoy an interactive art experience with light hors d’oeuvres, silent and live auctions of the “Man in the City” sculptures as well as other auction packages.
